Planning a trip for 2 to Jaco in March

    Hello Everyone,

This past May I went to CR and I stayed 2 days at the Del Rey in San Jose. I enjoyed my short time there and now I plan to go with a buddy to Jaco in March for spring break. Ive done some research on and from what I can tell, Hotel Cocal and Casino is ground zero for mongering. Now we are planning to stay at Cocal, unless we can find a cheaper hotel, then just go to Cocal by Taxi. My questions are, Can I find a cheap hotel that will let me bring girls in or should I just stick to the Cocal? Also, if I was to stay at the Cocal, do they offer a shuttle service from the airport to the hotel?

My final questions is, what are some daytime activities we can do in Jaco? We were interested in ATV riding and possibly zip-lining.

Thanks in advance for the help.

There are a few hotels near Cocal that are cheaper and monger-friendly. At this point, your biggest concern is not what is cheaper... But what is still available in March. Few places near Cocal have a lot of rooms left for March.

Cocal will just get you a regular shuttle for $100 - $125 one-way to SJO.

Daytime activities in Jaco are practically limitless. I would stick with the brochures by the reception desk and vet them with the reception personnel or someone that you trust.

Consider Hotel Mango Mar next door to Cocal. Quieter, less expensive, and 50 feet away. Breakfast included. No chica fee, but they cater to families and retirees, so they don't want big parties. Save that for Cocal. Not quite as nice as Cocal, but clean and the price is right.

I took the local zip line excursion last August...it was a hoot. Very interesting and fun.

    Have fun.

Many activities(including girls in daytime) They rent ATV's right on main drag.
If rooms are available I recommend ground zero cocal and there tour desk located in front of casino entrance is reputable

I'm traveling to Jaco with a group of buddies in a couple months and we plan to stay at the Casa Ponte. Has anyone heard of it and may be able to provide a review? I have not been able to find it on a map but I think its located south of Jaco between Los Suenos, just not sure about walking distance to town? We plan to house party during the day and go out in Jaco at night. Does anyone have experience getting the girls to party during the day? I imagine they will still want to be paid but any estimation on the price if its just for casual entertainment and company? Appreciate any insight.

It's gorgeous. The agency that handles the rentals doesn't publish the exact location on the internet -- to avoid too many gawkers, I suppose. It's up in the hills near Jaco -- about a 10-minute ride down to Jaco Beach.

As for the girls -- 1 visitor per guest, and they will be searched. Other than that, they don't really seem to care who you bring back. Maximum Occupancy is about 30 people, I think.

I'm sure that the girls would love to come to the house, but they know that it takes major bucks just to rent the place. They will likely milk you for dollars and will be tough to negotiate downwards in price.
